ESTUCHE DE COMUNIÓN * FIRST COMMUNION PENCIL CASE
¿Habéis
oído alguna vez la expresión “un clavo
saca otro clavo”? Pues ese es el caso de este estuche para bolígrafos. La
madre que me encargó este estuche para la Primera Comunión de su hija, se lo enseñó a su vecina y ésta
me ha pedido otro para la suya. Además la primera tiene que hacer un regalo de
comunión a su vez, y me ha encargado otro más. ¿Qué pasará cuando el resto de
invitados los vea? ¿Estaré haciendo estuches de comunión hasta julio? (ójala).
Have you ever heard the expression "a nail draws another nail"? (sorry, I don’t know if there is an equivalent proverb in english. Any
idea?) Because that is what happened with this
case for pens. The mother that I commissioned this case for her daughter taught
it to her neighbor, and she has asked me another pencil case for her own
daughter’s First Communion. In addition the first one has to make a gift of another
Communion at the same time, and she has charged me another more. What will
happen when the rest of the guests see the respective cases? Will I be making
kits of communion until July? (Hopefully).
ÚLTIMOS TRABAJOS YA TERMINADOS * LATEST WORK FINISHED
He
estado mucho tiempo ausente pero es que he tenido entre manos un trabajo
especial para una Primera Comunión que tenía fecha de entrega, así que no
podía distraerme si quería entregar el día acordado.
Se
trata de un conjunto formado por álbum de fotos, libro de firmas, estuche para
bolígrafos y recordatorios para poner una foto. Ha sido estresante, pero el
resultado ha sido satisfactorio para el cliente. Además las preciosas
ilustraciones exclusivas de la artista madrileña Aurora Antolinez para COCOLISO
han contribuido al éxito.

EL CUADERNO DE OLI * OLI'S NOTEBOOK
Cuando perdemos a un ser
querido repentinamente, y pasados los primeros momentos de locura y de
rompernos literalmente en pedazos, el dolor se convierte en una extensión más
de nosotros, como si a nuestro cuerpo le hubiera crecido un brazo más, y con el
que tenemos que aprender a vivir ya para el resto de nuestra vida. Hay personas
que se obstinan en ignorarlo aún notando su presencia. Otras personas lo asumen
y aprenden a vivir con él de todas las maneras imaginables.
Este es el cuaderno más especial
que he hecho hasta ahora porque su destinataria está asumiendo ese nuevo
apéndice que ha aparecido en su ser, el dolor de la pérdida, y ha encontrado la
manera de asimilarlo a su cuerpo y vivir con él, ella ha empezado a escribir y
a llenar páginas y páginas vaciando sobre el papel todo aquello que le duele y
que le dificulta la tarea de continuar con su vida. Por eso cuando pidió un
cuaderno para ella, estuve pensando muchos días en cómo sería, quería que fuese
muy bonito, pero también que fuese práctico, cómodo, y que no se acabase
enseguida.
La ventaja de la costura copta
de este cuaderno, es que permanece completamente plano encima de la mesa, no
hay que usar las dos manos para escribir.
Los colores son muy alegres
porque hay que celebrar la vida siempre, aunque nos duela. ¡Va por ti Oli!
When we lose a loved one suddenly, and
after the first moments of madness and break us literally in pieces, the
pain becomes more an extension of us, as if our body would have grown one extra
arm, and with which we have to learn to live for the rest of our lives. There
are people who stubbornly ignore even noticing the pain presence. Other people
assume it and learn to live with it somehow.
This notebook is the more special than I
have made by now, because its owner is assuming this new appendix that has
appeared in her being, the pain of loss, and has found a way to assimilate it
to her body and live with it by writing and filling pages and pages, emptying everything
that hurts her and that makes it hard to continue with her life.
That is why when she asked for a
notebook for her, I spent many days thinking about how it would be, I wanted it
to be very nice, but also had to be practical, comfortable, and that took a
long time to fill it. The advantage of the Coptic sewing of this notebook is
that it remains completely flat on the table; there is no need to use both
hands to write and maintain it open. The colors are very happy because life has
to be celebrated always, even if it hurts. This goes for you OLI!

UN CUADERNO MUY PERSONAL * A VERY PERSONAL NOTEBOOK
Se podría decir que éste es el cuaderno más personal que he
hecho. Desde el momento en que empecé a doblar los pliegos, ya sabía que iba a
ser un cuaderno de recetas para mi marido; un gran cocinero. El título de la portada lo ha
elegido él. Tiene los cortes decorados a juego con las guardas del interior aprovechando
el magnífico curso de marmoleado de papel al que tuve la oportunidad de asistir
el verano pasado.
One might say
that this notebook is the more personal than I have made. From the time I
started to fold the sheets, I knew it was going to be a notebook of recipes for
my husband (a great cook). He has chosen the cover title (“A RIGGER IN THE
KITCHEN”). I decorated the edges to match the end papers inside taking
advantage of the magnificent course of paper marbling that I had the
opportunity to attend the last summer.
